What information we may collect
The information we collect will depend on how you interact with us.
When you make an enquiry or use our services, we may collect information such as your name, email address, mobile number, preferred location, a student’s year level or stage of study, and information you choose to provide about the support you are looking for.
If you go on to use our services, we may also collect information that is reasonably necessary to understand the student’s circumstances, goals, learning needs and the support being provided.
This may sometimes include sensitive information, such as information about ADHD, disability, neurodivergence, health or other learning-related needs. We do not ask you to provide detailed sensitive information through the initial website enquiry form. Where sensitive information is required later, we will only seek information that is relevant to providing the service.
Australian privacy law applies higher standards to the collection of sensitive information, including health information, where the Australian Privacy Principles apply.
Information about students and other people
Many enquiries are made by parents or caregivers on behalf of a student.
If you provide personal information about another person, including a child or young person, please only provide information that is relevant to the enquiry or service and that you are appropriately able to provide.
Students may also communicate with Unlocking Neurodiversity directly where appropriate.
How we collect information
We generally collect personal information directly from you when you submit an enquiry through this website, contact us by email or other agreed communication methods, speak with us about services, or participate in executive-function coaching or related services.
We may also receive relevant information from a parent, caregiver, school or other professional where appropriate and with suitable authority or consent.
Our website may also automatically collect limited technical information about website use through cookies or similar technologies used to operate, secure and understand the performance of the website.
How we use personal information
We use personal information primarily to respond to enquiries, determine whether our services may be appropriate, arrange and provide services, communicate with students and families where appropriate, support the development and review of agreed strategies, administer the business, maintain appropriate records, and operate and improve the website.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We will not use information submitted through the enquiry form to send marketing communications unless you have separately chosen to receive them.
Website forms and service providers
This website is hosted by Squarespace. When you submit information through the website enquiry form, information is provided to Squarespace so that it can operate the website and form functionality, and the submission is sent to our nominated email account.
Squarespace advises website owners that form information is provided to Squarespace as the website hosting provider and may also be provided to the selected form-storage service.
We may also use reputable third-party providers for services such as email, website hosting, file storage, communications or business administration. These providers may process personal information only to the extent necessary for us to use their services.
Overseas processing
Some technology providers used by Unlocking Neurodiversity may process or store information outside Australia.
In particular, Squarespace states that information may be transferred internationally and may be processed in the United States or other countries in which Squarespace or its service providers operate.
We take reasonable care when choosing service providers and consider their privacy and security practices.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
This includes using password-protected accounts, reputable service providers and appropriate access controls.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide or administer services, or to meet applicable legal, professional or record-keeping requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we will take appropriate steps to delete, destroy or de-identify it where practicable.
Accessing or correcting your information
